Welcome to the Mountain View District of The United Methodist Church of the Virginia Annual Conference.
The Mountain View District encompasses the counties of Amherst, Bedford, Campbell, Franklin, Halifax, Henry, Patrick, and Pittsylvania, the Town of Bedford, and the independent cities of Danville, Martinsville, and Lynchburg.
Our District is home to 78 congregations and is overseen by a District Superintendent appointed by the Virginia Annual Conference. The Virginia Annual Conference is composed of eight districts serving more than 875 local congregations of The United Methodist Church across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

This year the Virginia Annual Conference will examine our identity as United Methodists as we explore our historical and theological roots. Using Rev. Jim Harnish’s book Journey to the Center of the Faith as our frame, each month, Bishop Sue will be joined by a special guest and together they will explore an aspect of who we are as United Methodists.
